When you just need a break…

I think everyone at some point feels ‘burnt out’…

I sure did…

I was trying to balance long hours at the office, long hours at the gym (or out and about) and my home life with my beloved. Not forgetting this blog and I was losing faith in my ability to juggle everything…

A fault of mine is I find it hard to ‘let go’ I can’t leave the office until all is done, I have to work out almost daily and I want my home life to be content…

I know I’m not alone in this feeling – We are generation ‘Must do everything’…We want to be fit, efficient, happy and balance it all whilst showing the world that we are in control.

A break in Cyprus was just what I needed..Some sun, good food and strolling…

& my little sister came along too..

Oh and our Gran sneaking in there..

I think it’s really important to try and stay active on holiday, especially with walking or running as it allows you to really explore. Every morning I would get up, down a black coffee, throw on shorts and a vest and head out to run or walk for at least 45 minutes. I find that it cleared my head, enabled me to enjoy the early morning sun and catch some sights…

There are so many stray cat’s in Cyprus – Hard to handle for a cat lover such as myself..

Remain’s of better times…

I was surprised by the amount of building sites and unfinished construction  in the area but this sea shack was a more interesting sight to behold…

I took some time to try to run but the hills as you can see are somewhat steep, I’ll let you into a little secret..I ended up jog walking up and racing back down. When I passed a English couple running at the bottom of the hill I was thankful to see them stop and walk at the same point..Gazelle I am not

The sunset’s are pretty impressive, this is something I always miss being office bound..

I recently treated myself to some Salomon trail running shoes for winter, not only are they super comfortable they where perfect over the hilly, dusty, mixed terrain and the gortex ensured dry feet whilst boulder hoping in the gorge, I like them so much I’ve ordered a funky summer pair.

This picture is a ‘little’ 127 hours(ish) – I did try to get more photos from inside the gorge but the poor lighting made for rather blurry images, but take my word for it I had a great hour exploring. Plus watching my Grandmother bounce from boulder to boulder with endless energy was seriously impressive.

Posing on the pier in the Primark dress every blogger brought this year, regardless I love it and think it’ll definitely make a winter appearance with thick tights and boots.

Now I’m back to reality I feel clearer headed, a pound lighter (!) and ready to face the rest of 2013…

Are you going away at all between now and New Year? Do you ever find that it all just get’s a little too much?

Katie
