By the way, I used to write my own sick notes for P.E & now I pay to workout & love to run. How times have changed...🤗

Yesterday was an unexpected high; to give you some clarity earlier on this year I was in a serious running funk. I struggled to run even close to a 60minute 10km & completely lost my confidence in my ability. ⠀
⠀
So, I worked on my mindset, improved my diet, started picking up weights on a regular basis again. Then over time, things improved & yesterday I ran a really unexpected, comfortable 54min 10km. ⠀
⠀
But, with everything else going on it feels, almost irrelevant? But hear me out, it's not. What I am trying to say is that if anything (not just running) feels tough right now. Keep going, we won't be in this funk forever & just keep moving forwards ♥️

So, what next...?⠀ ⠀ I'm not gonna lie, I have So, what next...?⠀

I'm not gonna lie, I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed, stressed & not really in the zone with my running etc these past couple of weeks. ⠀

These things happen, I think the worst thing we can do right now is put any unnecessary pressure on ourselves. What will be, will be & tomorrow is always a new day. So, actually I might shake off this funk & plan some fun goals for the next few weeks...♥️

Then, of course if I have time, I like to, you know. Document it. Because, well how will anyone ever know? 🤷🏻‍♀️⠀

But, there's a tiny flaw. You see, I can only hope that this serves as a public announcement. An apology even. I left the house, I ran, I walked. I propped my phone up in a park & took several running shots of myself. And for other people using the park? I made it awkward. Really awkward 🤦🏻‍♀️⠀

This morning I started the week with an unexpected, but really lovely run. I woke up unsure of how I wanted to move (Did I want to lift? Did I want to walk?...Dance? You get the drift). ⠀

Anyway, hope you all had a great start to the week (& admittedly, I am still confused by the change in clocks - Not like it happens twice a year!) 🤷🏻‍♀️

It takes strength attempt a social running event like, Park Run for the first time (& Oh how I miss it...). Or to walk into a gym & say "I don't actually know what I am doing". Or to enter the weights section & lift much lighter weights than everyone else. ⠀

You can be strong, in your own way, the only thing that matters is how what you're doing makes YOU feel. There's always someone leaner, faster, stronger...⠀

But there's not another you!  By working on a mindset that allows you define YOUR goals, what would be a PB to you (remember P=Personal) & feeling good during the process.⠀
⠀

I love this time of year, the crisp mornings, wrapping up warm & eating lots of cosy comfort food. After a few weeks off running, I'm gradually easing myself back in & it feels great to be back. ⠀

I'm trying the focus on little acts of happy, like taking a coffee on my morning walk, having conversations with our pets (I hope they aren't abusing me, I will never know!) & that wonderful feeling of bouncy new trainer's ♥️⠀

So, I am at the gym running away from it all!⠀

Our minds are so wonderful, yet so strange & after a 4am wake up (why, oh why?) Cat cuddles (can you spot her in this pic?), coffee & cardio felt like the right choice. ⠀

Sounds mad, but I know the peace of mind following a decent workout will give me a chance to untangle my worries ♥️ have a beautiful Friday xo
