Yoga at The Shard with Farfetch

It was 7.40am on a Thursday morning, a crisp, cool summer’s day was beginning, and after an early start I’d found myself in central London. The reason for my trip was the fact I was going to take part in a Yoga Class at the top of The Shard. I had never realised the sheer size and presence The Shard commands, sometimes you just have to take a moment to collect your thoughts and take in your surroundings. So far so good, I get to tick off objective #2 from my list:

My next objective was seeking out a gathering of fellow bloggers. Fortunately that only took me a few moments, and was greeted by some familiar faces. Before I knew it, we were whisked inside, breezed through security and started our journey towards the top of The Shard for our yoga class.
At around 8.30am the class started and I found myself easing into poses; with the added bonus of being able to look out over the London rooftops and appreciate how beautiful our capital city looked. For me, yoga is about ‘letting go’, I expel so much energy being a ‘worrier‘ instead of a ‘warrior‘ and moments like this remind me just how fortunate I am.

Admittedly I had a few apprehensions about the class, yoga practice is not a frequent part of my routine and I was hoping I could keep in line with the class. Fortunately the atmosphere was fun and relaxed, Leo (our teacher from Yogasphere) was something else. I think my favourite quote was..
“Now ease into yoga press up’s as if you are on top of someone you fancy’
All I wanted to do was bury my head into the mat to conceal my giggles…
After the class had finished, I had the chance to mingle with the fellow bloggers, I was so pleased to finally meet Natasha from ‘Dance, Flow, Lift’. We took this time to take some lovely photos on her fancy camera, my god, she makes Yoga look easy. I also had the pleasure of meeting Kristy from ‘Miss Kristy Anna’ whose blog and photography makes me want to live a more stylish life.

Talking of stylish, I was invited to Yoga and breakfast by Farfetch who offer over 300 of the world’s best boutiques all on one website. Allowing you access to a range of designers without having to leave your home. Farfetch are stocking some of my ‘Lust List’ designer sportswear pieces and my personal favourite, Stella for Adidas. Is now a good time to mention they currently have a sale?
I am very much of the thought process that some wardrobe basics ARE worth the investment, I bought a pair of Prada courts which have lasted over 5 years. When it comes to sportswear if you work out often and want pieces that wear well, wash well and make you feel your best, spend a little more. You are worth it…

After exploring the roof top gardens of The Shard, we were whisked to the Shangri-La hotel for one of the most photogenic breakfasts I’d ever experienced. We took our seats and learnt about Autumn/Winter Trends whilst sipping coffee and diving into buttery granola slices, egg white omelettes and fruit bowls.

Returning to reality is cruel and comes with a big bump. I gathered my belongings and excused myself, rushed back across London to the train station to board my return train to Northampton. Quick as a flash, I found myself back at my office desk, lacking iconic views, and getting to grips with my lunch served from Tupperware. I took a deep breath and began the process of battling with my inbox.
If you follow me on social media I’ll be sharing some pieces I picked up from Farfetch and my payday wish list.
Have you ever visited The Shard? Do you buy investment pieces?
