Visiting “The Long Walk” – Windsor
“I am sort of an adventurer. I like to explore new places. I don’t get to travel as often as I would like but I love it”
Whilst we were in the area, G kindly took me to Windsor as I was insistent that during our mini-break that we would spend time outside. Just a few hours away from the crowds, enjoying the sun and taking in the views of somewhere new. Okay, there was also the small element of walking off the huge Afternoon Tea I’d just demolished, I had pizza to make space for.
We took a route called ‘ The Long Walk’ in ‘The Great Park’ which includes a beautiful Deer Park, and the statue of King George III. We sat up on the hill that leads down from the statue onto the magnificent straight path down to the castle, called “The Long Walk”. With no reason to rush, we took a seat and just relaxed whilst taking in the view and having a moment of peace.
The Great Park is a stunning location to walk, run, or cycle. and I thoroughly recommend spending a few hours here if you’re in the area. I shall have to go back there just to run (Edit– I did two years later!).
