Small Ways You Can Make A Difference At Christmas…

*Donate warm clothing to the homeless…

If you don’t feel comfortable approaching people in the street. Then a quick Google will help you in locating your local charity or drop off point.

*Send a card to someone you’ve not spoken to in a while…

Or give them a call to say hello, it might really make an impact on that person’s day, even better if it means you reconnect.

*Shop with consideration…

Do you really need to gift someone yet another bath set? Charity shops are full of new gifts and many hidden gems. Alternatively, make something by hand or consider a charity donation if someone “has everything”.

*Donate to your local food bank…

I don’t know about you, but we often end up with an abundance of food over Xmas time, when others are really struggling it really does make sense to donate. There’s often a list of items that local food banks require; a few Northamptonshire ParkRun’s have been hosting collections too.

*This is a seriously tough time for animals…

Please don’t forget your local animal shelter, December and January are the two months of the year that shelters will see the highest volume of abandoned animals. There’s often a need for any unwanted bedding, plus unopened pet food and donations are always welcome.

*Don’t put yourself under huge amounts of pressure…

Because to put it simply, you can’t pour from an empty cup and sometimes it’s important to put yourself first. More important than the Xmas party, last-minute drinks or even coffee with a friend.
