Giant Chocolate Jazzys

It’s coming up to the time of year when our household is heaving with chocolate, in an attempt to create something different for my ‘Friday Treat’ this week, I decided to use up some of our excess chocolate.

What is Friday Treat you might ask? Well, each week someone from our office brings in something(s) to the value of £5 which can be considered a treat. Often we land up with an abundance of chocolate, sweets and crisps, it’s not healthy but it makes people smile.

Jazzys are not something you see often these days, the sickly sweet candy with hundreds and thousands was a childhood favourite of mine. I decided to recreate them using a mix of milk chocolate, with a swirl of candy melt (in various colours) and a generous sprinkle of hundreds and thousands.

Creamy chocolate disks, ready in under 30 minutes, perfectly child-friendly and a seriously tasty way to use up excess chocolate, make friends and influence people. Okay, I lied about the second too comments, although I can’t deny that chocolate is always a good way to my heart.


  1. 150g Milk Chocolate

  2. 20g Candy Melts (and food colouring)

  3. 10g White Chocolate

  4. Sprinkles/Hundreds and Thousands – To taste


  1. To start, break up the chocolate and place in a heatproof bowl, then place in the microwave on defrost for 5 minutes.

  2. Whilst the chocolate is melting, line a large baking tray with grease-proof paper and place the white chocolate and candy melts in 3 separate mini bowls

  3. Once the chocolate has melted, place the candy melts and white chocolate in the microwave for 4 minutes on defrost.

  4. Using a teaspoon dollop the melted chocolate onto the grease proof paper to form generous sized coins.

  5. Then, once the white chocolate and candy melted have melted, add the food colouring and using a teaspoon and tooth pick, swirl the coloured candy onto the top of the coins.

  6. Finally, sprinkle hundreds and thousands on the top, refrigerate and enjoy once set.


  1. *You don’t have to use candy melts, this can be tweaked to include white chocolate as the base or even dark chocolate
