December is a tough ole time of year, all those parties, catch-ups, and delicious snacks – Who am I even kidding, it’s fabulous, isn’t it? But when it comes to January it can feel a little bleak
So, what if you don’t have a regular gym membership and the pinch of paying out for endless stocking fillers, secret Santa and last-minute parties is having an impact? Well, I’ve got your back with a selection of FREE, yes FREE ways to stay fit in December and January.
London & Surrounding
Dance Like A Legend – (2nd December) A Free 90 minute beginners dance class with world-class training that guarantees to lift your spirits and have you dancing like a legend
Ballet/Barre Class Trail – (7th December) Floor barre: All the benefits of ballet but on the floor! It sounds like a dream!
Reigate Hill Trail Run – (21st December) A guided 10km Trail Run Through the Surrey Countryside.
Sweaty Betty – (Weekly) – Good things come to those who sweat(!) indoor and outdoor classes covering various workouts.
Northamptonshire, Corby & Milton Keynes
Sunday Morning MTB Ride – (Various dates) – Join Tim Jones from Giant Store Rutland for a ride around Wakerley Woods!
BMF Northampton – (Various dates) – Sessions vary between moving around the entire park stopping to use the local features for exercises and static sessions using boxing equipment, kettlebells, slam balls, power bags and much more. **One taster session for free
Vinyasa Flow – Yoga with Becky – (Various dates) – An uplifting and energetic vinyasa flow to help balance both your mind and body through dynamic movement, designed to have you feeling calmer and stronger.
Trim Trails – (Open 365 days a year) – These trails provide free outdoor fitness that anyone can use anytime
Rest of the UK
Green Gym – (Various dates) – The Conservation Volunteers run conservation projects across the country, involving a variety of tasks, sites, and habitats. Though not specifically ‘Green Gyms’, the work involved is very similar
Park Run – (Saturday, 9am) – Free, weekly, 5km timed runs around the world. They are open to everyone, free, and are safe and easy to take part in.
