Of all my accomplishments, the fact we managed to grow a truly gigantic marrow is right up there with the best. However, it weighed in at7lb 2 which I understand is not actually a world record, nevermind there’s another huge marrow on it’s way too!
So, what was I to do with so much marrow? G doesn’t actually eat marrow, the cat certainly doesn’t eat marrow and that just leaves me, I love marrow. Just to show how enamored I was with our marrow, which we named Brandon Brown, G kindly grabbed this quick snap, I’m not pregnant by the way.
I started surfing around online for some inspiration and quickly realized how easy it would be to make a delicious marrow and lentil bake, plus it would serve as lunch for the next few days – Winning.
I love recipes like this because they are so easy to throw together and create what can only be described as a really satisfying meal, with limited fuss or washing up. Due to the fact, our marrow was so vast, I also made some delicious chocolate cakes too, because dessert is important and this wouldn’t be ‘Cake Vs Scales‘ if I didn’t include some cake!
